Why is CARE having a virtual event? Due to COVID 19, we are having to change from our normal events because we must social distance and do our part to help keep our loved ones and community safe. Since we can’t meet or gather, we can still participate in healthy events on our own and keep everyone around us safe…all while supporting a great mission of helping local cancer patients! If you are interested in supporting CARE further, we are grateful to include you as one of our sponsors. Please download our sponsorship opportunities at: carelascruces.org.
CARE’S Mission Statement:
CARE intervenes on the financial toxicity of cancer by providing financial support for basic living needs to people who reside in Dona Ana County recently diagnosed with any type of cancer and are in treatment to cure, shrink or stop the progression of their cancer, so they may focus on treatment, healing and recovery. CARE’s goal is to be part of the solution to improve health outcomes and cancer survivorship.
What does CARE help with?
CARE helps recently diagnosed eligible cancer patients residing in Doña Ana County with gas cards to get to treatment, groceries and nutritional supplements, self pay health insurance, utilities, rent or mortgage, phone, and lodging, airfare and meals if needing to travel for treatment, etc.
CARE’s focus is to provide assistance to cancer patients and their families residing in Doña Ana County to help them cope with their cancer journey. CARE provides financial assistance to patients in active treatment with basic life necessities: gas cards to get to treatment, groceries, utilities, rent, lodging/meals, etc. When businesses, organizations and individuals help their local community in this way, it spreads love and hope and helps cancer patients heal because they know that people care about their health while they are going through their treatment and recovery. La Gran Fiesta is truly a unique community giving effort that helps save lives.
