CARE’S Mission Statement:

CARE intervenes on the financial toxicity of cancer by providing financial support for basic living needs to people who reside in Dona Ana County recently diagnosed with any type of cancer and are in treatment to cure, shrink or stop the progression of their cancer, so they may focus on treatment, healing and recovery. CARE’s goal is to be part of the solution to improve health outcomes and cancer survivorship.

What does CARE help with?

CARE helps recently diagnosed eligible cancer patients residing in Doña Ana County.  CARE’s CARE Support Program helps eligible cancer patients with financial assistance for non-medical needs, basic living needs. Financial assistance includes: gas cards to get to treatment, other transportation needs, groceries and nutritional supplements, self-pay health insurance, utilities, rent or mortgage payments, telephone, etc. If treatment requires medical travel outside of the county, CARE helps with lodging, airfare, meals, gas cards, parking, etc.

CARE’s focus is to provide assistance to cancer patients and their families residing in Doña Ana County to help them cope with their cancer journey.  When businesses, organizations and individuals help their local community in this way, it spreads love and hope and helps cancer patients heal because they know that people care about their health while they are going through their treatment and recovery.
