La Gran Fiesta Parade
La Gran Fiesta Parade will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in conjunction with La Gran Fiesta event Downtown at Plaza de Las Cruces on Friday, September 20, 2019 and Saturday, September 21, 2019. La Gran Fiesta and La Gran Fiesta Parade promotes goodness by creating an inspiring contagious fun community happy event while giving to save lives and advocating for improved quality of life and health outcomes for the people of our community.

Parade Fee: $0
Staging: 1:00 p.m. – Staging begins at 1:00 p.m. at City of Las Cruces City Hall east parking lots, 700 North Main Street, Las Cruces, NM 88001, next to Campo Street. Please note: Streets will close; it is best to arrive early; access after 2:00 p.m. may be challenging.
Begins: 3:00 p.m. – Parade begins at 3:00 p.m.
Route: : Entries will enter Campo Street, will travel south on Campo Street, turn west (right) on Hadley Avenue, turn south (left) on Church Street, continue to travel south and destage at the US Bank parking lot, before reaching Amador Avenue.
Theme: A Community that CARES (show your spirit)
La Gran Fiesta is a large scale community event and large scale cancer fundraiser that wholeheartedly is raising funds to go right back into the community helping the people of our community. La Gran Fiesta has emphasis on people, food, culture, arts, outdoor entertainment and recreation, fun, family, southwest, quality of life, tourism, economic impact, goodwill and an emphasis to “pay it forward”. Entry to the parade is free and we encourage community participation in this special community event. We are also encouraging parade entries and our community to get involved in our La Gran Fiesta Jubilee of Life Walk, a walk to raise cancer awareness and money to help our local cancer patients. Another opportunity of involvement is our festivities at La Gran Fiesta at Plaza de Las Cruces. La Gran Fiesta is CARE’s signature cancer fundraiser, one of the largest cancer fundraisers in the state of New Mexico benefitting residents recently diagnosed with any type of cancer and in treatment for their cancer. We will acknowledge every parade entry. We will also announce the trophy winners at Plaza de Las Cruces over the weekend.
Prizes: Trophies will be given to: 1. LA GRAN FIESTA Best of Parade; 2. Most creative cancer theme float; 3. Most creative production presentation (music, dance, etc.) 4. Military – Veterans presentation; 5. Best school presentation (ex. marching bands, JROTC, organizations, sports teams, cheerleaders, etc.)
