La Gran Fiesta Parade

La Gran Fiesta Parade will be held in conjunction with La Gran Fiesta event Downtown at Plaza de Las Cruces from Friday, September 21, 2018 through Sunday, September 23, 2018.  La Gran Fiesta and La Gran Fiesta Parade promotes goodness by creating an inspiring contagious fun community happy event while giving to save lives and advocating for improved quality of life and health outcomes for the people of our community.

Parade Date: Saturday, September 22, 2018

Staging:  1:00 to 2:45 p.m.

Begins:  3:00 p.m. – Staging begins at 1:00 p.m. at City of Las Cruces City Hall east parking lots, 700 North Main Street, Las Cruces, NM  88001, next to Campo Street. Parade begins at 3:00 p.m.

Route:   The route is on Campo Street, beginning on Campo Street, near the south end of Campo Street/Spruce Avenue.  Participants will travel north on Campo Street and destage at the US Bank parking lot, before reaching Amador Avenue.

Theme:  A Community that “Pays it Forward II”

La Gran Fiesta is a large scale community event and large scale cancer fundraiser that wholeheartedly is raising funds to go right back into the community helping the people of our community.  La Gran Fiesta has many events within the event and also has emphasis on quality of life, culture, people, food, arts, outdoor entertainment and recreation, fun, family, southwest, tourism, economic impact, goodwill and an emphasis to “pay it forward”.  We are not asking the parade entries to pay a fee to be in the parade.  Although there is no fee, we are encouraging parade entries to either create a fundraiser to raise funds to donate to CARE or make a donation.  We encourage participation in this special community event whether or not participants are able to donate to CARE.  We will acknowledge every parade entry.  We will also announce the amount donated of any entries that contribute $1,000 or more to CARE and we will honor them at Plaza de Las Cruces.

Prizes:  Trophies will be given to:  1.  LA GRAN FIESTA Best of Parade; 2.  Largest donation amount; 3. Most creative cancer theme float; 4.  Most creative production presentation (music, dance, etc.) 5.  Best school presentation (ex. marching bands, JROTC, organizations, sports teams, cheerleaders, etc.)
